Twitter - Engaging with Brands

The five brands I chose to engage with were brands I always seem to have interactions with in my life. I tried to differentiate between them and not pull from similar fronts too much so I wouldn't be talking all about food or all about athletics. The five companies are Moe's Southwest Grill, GNC, Nike, Apple, and Publix. Moe's Southwest Grill and Publix are companies in the food industry that I seem to frequent a lot, every day it seems like I am grabbing a carton of milk or stuffing my face with a burrito. Nike and GNC are both companies I use for my athletic needs, Nike for the apparel and GNC for any supplements I need to stay on top of my game. Apple seemed like it fit well because I have my iPhone within two feet of myself 24 hours a day. The first company I tweeted too was Publix and they responded by leaving a favorite on my post. It wasn't exactly the reaction I was hoping for but it was a good start. For my next post I decided to end my tweet with the clever hashtag #SunsOutGunsOut to draw the attention of the GNC twitter page and add some comedy to the question I asked them. A brilliant idea then came to me... what if I asked Moe's the on the spot question of what I should get, a burrito or stack, to make them reply quickly. For the hail mary play I went all out to the people at Nike athletics. I took a picture of my new Nike shoes and attached them to my tweet saying how much I love them and how often I wear them. Out of all my tweets only one was giver a timely response. I intend to continue interacting with these brands until I get a response so I can grasp a better idea of how brands can engage with their individual audiences.
